Training & development for Recycling Lives managers

Recycling Lives managers and supervisors are leading by example by undertaking training courses, organised with the help of company’s in-house training department.

Staff training has always been a vital part of the way we work at Recycling Lives. As a leader in the recycling and waste management sector, the only way we can stay ahead of the game is by investing in staff and their personal development – better training means happier staff, better ideas and new, innovative ways of working.

Our managers and supervisors are an essential part of keeping our departments running smoothly. By investing in their training, we can ensure that they have the skills to manage and develop their teams into the future.

20 of our supervisors and managers have been enrolled on a managerial course at KMPG on the Docks in Preston. The training is progressing well, with two sessions already complete and another six to go between January and March.

One Connect, a pioneering £400m joint venture partnership established between Lancashire County Council and BT, is delivering the training. Having worked with Recycling Lives to explore what we wanted to achieve through undertaking the training, the company has developed a bespoke training programme that is designed to meet the needs of a leading waste management and recycling services provider.

The feedback from the training sessions has been extremely positive so far, with staff at both managerial and supervisory level expressing how important the continuing development will be for their particular departments, as well as for Recycling Lives as a whole.
