Recycling Lives is pleased to be helping Allied Lighting, one of the leading LED lighting providers in the UK, to further improve their environmentally friendly profile.
Allied supplies clients with a range of energy-efficient, zero-maintenance lighting solutions that boast an average lifespan of 50,000 hours, compared to conventional lights, which last for just 1,200 hours – all of which is good news for the environment.
With Recycling Lives’ help, though, Allied is able to go one step further by offering customers an integrated recycling solution for their old incandescent bulbs. We help Allied to ensure that the amount of waste sent to landfill is minimised and that any hazardous substances from old bulbs are dealt with in accordance with all relevant and up-to-date environmental legislation. With our specialist mercury isolation cabins, state-of-the-art equipment and fully trained staff, we’re more than up to the job!
When it comes to the recycling of LED lights, we’ve got that covered too – Allied works with Advantage Waste Brokers, a compliance scheme owned by the Recycling Lives group, to ensure that its products are dealt with according to strict guidelines set out in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive.
If not disposed of correctly, components within LED light bulbs can be harmful to the environment, which is why Allied works so closely with Advantage Waste Brokers and Recycling Lives to ensure that every part of their expired products is processed properly. By tightening the loop on recycling, Recycling Lives is helping to offer Allied’s customers a full service solution for their new lighting installations. And, given that every contract we receive helps us to fund our social welfare charity and offer work experience opportunities for disadvantaged individuals, we’d like to think that the situation’s a win-win!
