Recycling Lives is continuing to mark Preston’s year as European City of Sport by sponsoring a local under-11s football team!
Gregson Lane Blacks are part of the Central Lancashire Junior Football League, and will now be heading out on to the pitch with Recycling Lives’ distinctive stick-man logo on their fantastic new kit.
The team is coached by Andrew Swarbrick, who works for Recycling Lives’ corporate partner, Global Renewables. The two companies enjoy a close relationship, so when Recycling Lives heard from Andrew that the footy-mad lads at Gregson Lane Blacks were looking for a new team sponsor, they were more than happy to step up.
Speaking about the sponsorship deal, Andrew commented, “A massive thank you to Recycling Lives for stepping in and sponsoring the team. Sponsorship is always a crucial part of enabling junior football teams continue year on year, so we are very pleased to have Recycling Lives on board”. This sponsorship deal is the latest in a long line of sporty events that Recycling Lives has taken part in this year, following hot on the heels of a half-marathon and a 60-mile bike ride, and really epitomises what the European City of Sport award is all about. Presented by the European Capital of Sport Association, the award is based around five key objectives: enjoying exercise, experiencing community, learning to play fair, being willing to achieve, and improving health.
We’re sure that the lads at Gregson Lane Blacks will do us proud on all counts this year, and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming matches!
