Recycling Lives puts the squeeze on hefty CO2 emissions

Recycling Lives’ commercial waste department has cut the costs and CO² emissions associated with one of its contracts by installing two compactors on site.

Recycling Lives has been providing a full range of waste collection and recycling services for all of the waste arising from the UK premises of international food giant, Dr Oetker for more than a year now. During that time, the team at Dr Oetker have been impressed by the company’s closed-loop recycling solutions and are proud to be able to say that, since awarding their waste stream contract to Recycling Lives, none of their waste is sent to landfill – a great result for a company that values its customers and works hard to consistently improve its Corporate Social Responsibility agenda.

Last month, Recycling Lives’ waste team installed a pair of compactors on site at Dr Oetker, meaning that cardboards and loose plastics can now be crushed and baled before being transported back to Recycling Lives’ recycling plant for processing. These waste materials now take up far less room than before, which gives Dr Oetker more space on site and means that Recycling Lives’ transport team is making far fewer trips than before – a great way to reduce road traffic congestion, CO² emissions and transport costs!

A spokesperson for Dr Oetker praised Recycling Lives, commenting:

“Dr Oetker has been working with Recycling Lives over the last year and, during this time, we have found them a pleasure to work with.

“They provide a fast, friendly yet professional service, and they now handle all of our different streams of waste. They are constantly looking for ways to improve how we handle our waste and we are now in a position where none of our waste goes to landfill.

“I can confirm we are proud to be associated with Recycling Lives. As well as providing a highly efficient waste service, the charity work the company does is amazing.”
