Recycling Lives’ employee of the year announced

Recycling Lives has honoured its Employee of the Year - a “fantastic" team member whose “outstanding commitment” ensures the smooth running of its industry-leading operations.

The award was handed to Mark Winder, Fabrication and Fixed Plant Manager at the Recycling Park. His role involves managing the business' welding and fabrication department and maintaining multi-million-pound machinery across the 15 acre site.

A member of the team since 2013, Mark (pictured above, centre) was chosen for going "above and beyond" to keep the plant operational. He also supports and manages teams operating the machinery and mentors staff, including men working on ‘day release’ from prison and apprentices.

Operations Director Danny Jackson said: “Mark is a fantastic member of staff who always goes above and beyond his call of duty.
“He has a real knack for fixing mechanical problems and is always on hand to help out and keep the plant operational. His outstanding commitment to his work makes him a truly valued member of the team.”

The award, along with a generous prize of a mini break, was handed to Mark by Recycling Lives’ President Terry Jackson during the business’ Queen’s Award presentation ceremony on July 25.

Mark was chosen as winner from all Employee of the Month winners from 2017/18 - all having won for their skills, commitment and passion for the business.

Head of HR Claire Dallison said: “Employee of the Month is all about recognising and rewarding our staff for all the hard work they put in.
"We have had some brilliant Employees of the Month this year so it was a tough choosing Employee of the Year. All the nominees deserve recognition for their fantastic efforts.”
