Business incubators expanding

Recycling Lives supports local small businesses and entrepreneurs- having developed from a small scrap metal business, we know how important small businesses are in driving economic growth.

That’s why we offer high quality, professional business incubators to start-up and developing enterprises to support their growth. These are far more than simple office spaces, providing a full business support package and utilising our extensive experience to enable the business to succeed.

The incubators have proven very popular, with a range of businesses renting them- from document and archive management firm IBEX to the growing Online Business Directory. So full, in fact, that all the rooms currently available have now been taken, and we are opening more to accommodate continued interest!

The incubators are based at the Recycling Lives centre, in Essex Street. Eighteen rooms on the third floor of the building have now been filled, with the last taken in late January 2014 by Aspirena, providing mentoring and coaching services to marginalised people in society. A further five rooms are now being prepared on the second floor.

Geraldine Hoggarth, who manages the incubators, said:

"I have been managing the Business Incubators for four years now, and during that time they have always been at least seventy percent full. This is the first time we have been able to fill all of our spaces though, showing how Recycling Lives is making an increasing impact on business and economic growth in our community."

In addition to high quality office space, the incubators include free use of fully-equipped meeting room; IT support; and 24/7 security; in addition to access to coaching and mentoring, discounted services and training opportunities; free legal advice; and help securing funding and financing.

We also offer further financial support to businesses that provide work experience and employment opportunities to our Charity Residents.

All businesses are welcome, but we are particularly interested in small and start-up enterprises, and those who benefit the community and the environment.
