Be inspired by Recycling Lives

Recycling Lives is proud to announce that the company has been shortlisted for the Employer of the Year Award in the 2011 Lancashire Be Inspired Business Awards – or BIBAs.

The BIBAs recognise the cream of the crop when it comes to commercial excellence, inspired entrepreneurship and outstanding achievement by businesses and individuals in Lancashire. Supported by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the awards are hailed as “the ones to win” and attract some of the biggest and best business contenders in the region each year.

Recycling Lives enjoyed a real measure of success in the 2010 awards, when the company’s founder, Steve Jackson, fought off stiff competition to scoop the award for the Entrepreneur of the Year. The accolade came in recognition of Steve’s energetic and forward-thinking approach to new ventures, as well as his contribution and commitment to the local business economy.

This year’s nomination – for the Employer of the Year Award – has been met with no less enthusiasm by the Recycling Lives team. The company, which last year won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, is developing quite a reputation for its high employment standards. It retained its Investor in People status and been recommended as an Investor in People Ambassador in December 2010.

After a busy twelve months, the Recycling Lives team is now working hard to ensure that the successes of the last year are repeated – and improved on – in 2011. The company has already launched a number of online social business ventures – such as Furniture Donation Network – this year and is focusing on expanding its operations in other regions of the North West. The expansion will create exciting new training and employment opportunities across Lancashire and beyond, meaning good news for the North West’s communities and economy.

Commenting on the company’s BIBA nomination for Employer of the Year, Recycling Lives’ CEO, Charles Jackson, said:

“It’s a real boost to have been recognised by the Lancashire Be Inspired Business Awards once more. The fact that we’ve been nominated twice in as many years goes to show that we’re on the right path with what we’re doing and our one team approach. We’re particularly pleased to have been nominated for the Employer of the Year Award – our successes belong to everyone on the Recycling Lives team.

Recycling Lives is no one-hit wonder – we’ve got big plans for the next few years and we’re building on the high standards that we’re known for in the industry and the region. Without the effort and commitment of all our team members, none of this would be possible, so the nomination for Employer of the Year couldn’t be more welcome.

We’re up against some great contenders in this year’s BIBAs, so we’d like to offer our congratulations and best wishes to everyone ahead of next month’s awards ceremony!”
