Recycling Lives appoints new CEO

Steven Jackson OBE, founder of Recycling Lives, has now assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer within the organisation.
Steve and Charles Jackson

Steven takes over from Charles Jackson, who had been appointed by Steven to manage the family recycling company Preston Recycling since its incorporation in 1999. When the company reversed into the Recycling Lives model in 2008, Charles continued with the role.

With the appointment of Prof. Steve Broomhead to non-executive chairman of Recycling Lives, it seemed a natural progression for Steven to assume the CEO post. As a successful entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the recycling industry, Steven is well equipped to continue where Charles left off, ensuring that our commercial operations keep prospering and that the Recycling Lives charity can continue to make a difference to long-term unemployed and homeless individuals.

Over the coming months, Recycling Lives will be investing heavily in new processing equipment, which will aid us greatly in our planned expansion across the North West. Steven will also be continuing the push to launch a number of new Community Dotcoms – ethical ventures that harness an online portal to provide charity-driven services throughout the UK – in addition to the three existing Community Dotcoms: Bulky Waste, Furniture Donation Network and Car Donation Network.

Commenting on the role, Steven said:

“I’m proud of what Charles has helped the company achieve over the last three years. As a family member Charles has said he will always be available to add benefit from his extensive knowledge of the industry. I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of the board and everyone at Recycling Lives to thank him for all his work and dedication to us over the years.”
