“At one point my family just washed their hands of me but now they are so proud of me.”
Working with Recycling Lives has helped Keith to rebuild relationships with his parents. After he had spent years in and out prison, they had come to the end of their tether. During a four-year sentence at HMP Lancaster Farms, Keith worked in Recycling Lives’ Academy for 11 months.
Upon release he moved into Recycling Lives’ residential charity and undertook work placements across the organisation: “It’s made me realise what I’m capable of.”
After proving himself a hardworking and trustworthy team member, he has been offered a permanent role and is now looking to move into his own home.
“Recycling Lives has given me support in all areas of my life. The best thing is my family are proud of my determination and focus.”
