Recycling Lives is rapidly expanding across the UK, offering total waste management and recycling services from 11 sites nationwide. Our unique social business model means that this expansion helps improve the lives of hundreds of people through our charitable activities. To support these services, our workforce has grown 23% in 2016/17 – and we’re still growing!

Our culture

People are at the centre of everything we do at Recycling Lives, both as a waste management company, a charity and an employer. We pride ourselves on providing the best customer care to our clients and supporting them to find innovative waste management solutions. We are also committed to helping people within local communities, feeding those living in poverty and providing job opportunities for the long-term unemployed.

Our values

A positive attitude, determination, resilience and flexibility are all attributes we value at Recycling Lives.

We expect high standards of delivery and customer service and will provide you with the support and encouragement you need so that we can achieve this goal.

Our mission

Our mission is to continue doing good by doing good business.

We strive to protect our planet, through continuous environmental innovation, and our workforce - creating employment for people, and generating a sustainable circle of opportunity for those working with us. We continue to strive to deliver value and profit which is social, environmental and commercial.

Our environmental and social aims drive our innovation, helping us to expand our operations nationally and provide more support to local communities.

In the past year, we have opened new sites across the UK and expanded our metal recycling processes so that we are now able to extract more copper from the scrap we receive, thus allowing our business to reduce waste and to be more profitable. This is not only beneficial to the environment and our business, but this allows us to invest more into our charitable activities, helping us to expand our food redistribution scheme into Cumbria and open two new HMP academies.

Recycling Lives is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. We are committed to the fair treatment of our staff, potential staff or users of its services, and select all candidates for interview based on their skills, qualifications and experience.

Development & training

We offer excellent progression opportunities and a variety of specialised in house training depending on job role, including a twelve-month training and development course for managers and master driver training for individuals who want to become a class two driver.

We offer a range of employee reward schemes, including a health care cash plan, Fairquid credit union savings and loans scheme, cycle to work scheme, discounted tickets for tourist attractions, employee wellbeing initiatives and much more.

We encourage, value and manage diversity and are committed to equality for our entire staff. Our aim is to create a workforce that is representative of the communities from which it is drawn.
