Nico joined us on a work placement in March 2016, after spending seven months out of work. After impressing during the four-week placement, when he got the chance to try a wide range of roles in the warehouse, he was offered a full-time job at the Recycling Park.
He initially worked as a depollution operative and Fork Lift Truck Driver, but later was offered the opportunity to undertake a Master Drivers course, run and paid for by Recycling Lives to develop a growing transport team. He was one of four people to take and complete the course.
Nico said: “It was a big step, but I wanted the challenge. Of all the jobs I’ve had, Recycling Lives has supported me more than any other. It’s a big thing that they do for people and this is a big step for me. There’s so many opportunities to move up and do different things there.”
