Recycling Lives is an award-winning employer committed to bringing the best out of our employees.
In 2017, the team behind Recycling Lives’ Food Redistribution Centre was named National Team of the Year for their work providing charitable organisations with food as well as its diversity and the equality of opportunity it offers.
The team provides work placements and volunteer opportunities to people from all walks of life, including homeless people and ex-offenders undergoing Recycling Lives’ Residential Charity programme. Dozens of former volunteers moved into full-time positions with Recycling Lives or its partners following volunteering with the team.
The work we do to create a positive social value on local communities is at the core of Recycling Lives’ ethos as a socially responsible corporate business, and it’s reflected in the work done by all our teams across the business.
Our staff show commitment to this ethos and demonstrate initiative and innovation in finding ways to improve and increase the services we provide. To reflect this work, our business has grown to a national scale within the past couple of years, increasing the reach of our charitable activities and winning three Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2010, 2014 and 2018.
Nico joined us on a work placement in March 2016, after spending seven months out of work. After impressing during the four-week placement, when he got the chance to try a wide range of roles in the warehouse, he was offered a full-time job at the Recycling Park.
Rob joined us in January 2007 as a warehouse operative with ambition to progress within the company.
Deena joined us as an apprentice in July 2013 working on our first CommunityDotCom site, Scrap Car Network.
