For the third year in a row, the Recycling Lives Christmas Grotto was a resounding success with a great turn out and a fantastic atmosphere. Once again, our annual Christmas Grotto was a massive success. Over 300 children and adults turned out to see Santa and his elves, local kids had a great time while the adults took the opportunity to relax with a hot drink and some food in our café.
The event was a big team effort, with staff and charity Residents working together to bring the festive cheer to local children! All the children got the chance to meet Santa – in his specially made Grotto – and were given a present to unwrap on the big day on 25th December. A very special thanks goes out to Morrison’s for their support in helping the kids tuck into some extra festive goodies!
Santa had this to say:
“It was an absolute pleasure to once again see all the staff and kids at Recycling Lives. The Christmas Grotto is a highlight of the year, and it is a great way to show some appreciation for all the fantastic work done here. All that is left to say is ‘ho-ho-ho’ and a very merry Christmas!”
Engaging with the local community is a big part of what we do at Recycling Lives. The first Recycling Lives centre in Preston- were the Christmas Grotto was held- holds more than just offices. It is the base for our social welfare charity, with the accommodation for our Residents. Local business start-ups make their home in our Business Incubators, helping to encourage local entrepreneurs and boost the local economy. There are also training courses available for the community through Social Enterprise Education (SEEE), in partnership with UCLAN and local colleges.
Recycling Lives would like to thank everyone who helped with or attended this year’s Christmas Grotto- the event was a huge success and that wouldn’t be possible without all of you.
