Waste Management

Recycling Lives offer complete waste management solutions to domestic and commercial customers of any size and operation.

Bespoke Waste Management Solution

We will conduct a full waste audit to ensure that we fully understand your needs, before creating a bespoke solution specifically made to your requirements.

The whole process will have a minimal impact on your bottom-line and day-to-day operations, whilst reducing your environmental impact and carbon footprint- displaying good Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the process.

We also work alongside Local Authorities and waste management companies to provide waste management solutions in residential areas.

The Waste Management Process

Once we have attained a complete understanding of your waste management requirements, we will create and implement a bespoke solution tailored to your needs.

With a large fleet of vehicles and hundreds of containers available, we are confident we have the capacity to meet your needs.

Your waste will be processed at one of our dedicated, fully-licensed waste processing facilities. We currently have the capacity to accept all forms of dry non-hazardous waste, including:

  • Soils
  • Aggregates
  • Wood
  • Clear and coloured plastic film
  • Cardboard
  • Window Frames
  • Paper
  • Rigid Plastic

We operate a centralised weighbridge system to ensure that all waste materials that enter our site are recorded. This allows us to maintain a completely transparent audit trail, giving you the peace of mind that your waste has been handled safely and responsibly.

Regulations and Legislation

The UK has one of fastest growth rates for waste output in the EU (4 %*). However, in recent years legislation passed by the European Union has begun to radically alter the way waste is handled in the UK.

Recycling Lives operate in line with the EU Landfill Directive 1999, which came into force in the UK with the Landfill (England and Wales) Regulations 2002. These regulations have been introduced gradually in the UK, in order to give the waste management industry time to adapt.

The new regulations reclassify waste disposal sites as inert, hazardous and non-hazardous; and also ban certain waste materials (including all liquids); as well as tightening site monitoring and engineering standards.

These regulations will be supplemented by the new European Waste Catalogue, which extends the range of materials classed as hazardous; and the Waste Acceptance Criteria, which will introduce stringent pre-treatment requirements for waste materials.

Experience and Quality Management

Recycling Lives has more than 40 years experience in the recycling and waste management industry.

Our facilities are well managed to ensure the highest standards of quality and safe working practices.

Recycling Lives is the proud holder of ISO9001 Quality Management accreditation. This ensures all our processes are of a high standard and deliver optimum results for employees, consumers and customers.

We have also been awarded ISO14001. This is a standard for environmental management systems and demonstrates our commitment to reduce the environmental footprint of Recycling Lives and to decrease the pollution and waste produced.
