How does Recycling Lives achieve a 100% recycling rate?
At Recycling Lives, we place as much material as possible into a reuse stream, with second hand equipment being used by our charity or sold to reputable customers, with profits being used to fund the training and residential programmes that we offer to homeless and unemployed people.
Combining this with our extensive staff training programmes and heavy investment in technology at our recycling centres, we are able to provide a closed-loop recycling service that ensures that 100% of waste equipment is recycled.
What happens to the data on my computers’ hard-drives?
At Recycling Lives, we understand our clients’ need for strict confidentiality when it comes to disposing of items like hard-drives, which is why we wipe hard-drives of any data to MOD standards.
For extra peace of mind, our specially trained staff are happy to shred items or wipe equipment using a degaussing machine if this is requested by our clients. This renders equipment completely unusable, ready for subsequent recycling. Any instructions we receive from our clients regarding the destruction of their waste IT equipment are followed to the letter, and we are happy to issue official certificates of destruction to clients should this be required.
