Manufacturing
Recycling Lives are committed to finding new and innovative solutions to waste problems, and are always looking for new ways of reducing waste in landfill. To this end, we are currently developing manufacturing processes for a number of products made using recycled materials.
By using recycled materials in the manufacturing process, in place of ‘new’ materials, we are lowering the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the manufacture of this product.
Recycling Plastic
Recycling Lives have developed the processes to manufacture a strong extruded ‘I-Beam’ for use in the construction industry, using recycled plastic.
Utilising an innovative process, any plastic polymer can be recycled as part of this product.
This product provides an eco friendly, sustainable alternative to wood- a scarce raw material.
The plastic ‘I-Beam’ will not rot or decay as wood does, and should it be damaged then it can be reprocessed and made into a new ‘I-Beam’.
Any plastic polymer can be used, making an end to plastic waste in landfill possible.
Glass Tiles
Glass presents a significant problem in the waste stream- it takes thousands of years to biodegrade and is highly prevalent in the modern production industry, but at Recycling Lives we are implementing innovative solutions to remove glass from the waste stream.
Crushed glass, a by-product of our CRT processing system, can be used to produce revolutionary glass tiles.
These tiles provide a sustainable alternative to products made from marble, granite, ceramics and synthetic materials that are equally attractive. This is a commercially viable product that utilises completely recycled materials.
Both of these products can be mass-produced in the UK.
