Personal Development

Recycling Lives has a commitment to employee development and training, many of our long-term staff having begun at the bottom and progressed through the company, developing skills in new areas as they did so.

In order to give our employees the opportunity for personal development, Recycling Lives operates a dedicated training department, consisting of qualified and highly competent trainers with an extensive understanding of the sector.

The Training Department consists of:

  • NVQ Assessors
  • Health at Work Assessors
  • RTITB Accredited Assessors for all plant and machinery training
  • STA Associate Member First Aid Tutors

These trainers develop and deliver bespoke training to over 170 employees throughout Recycling Lives.

Each employee receives training in:

  • Health and Safety
  • Manual Handling
  • First Aid

First Aid Training for All

Recycling Lives maintain a commitment to ensuring that all of our staff are First Aid trained. This ‘colleague-care’ culture is important in the waste management and recycling sector, which is rife with inherent danger.

By ensuring that our employees receive this accredited training we are also further demonstrating our commitment to improving our employees Personal Development Portfolio.

Staff Appraisal

Every employee receives an annual appraisal to ensure that they have the opportunity to address any training needs they may have.

Recycling Lives offers literacy and numeracy training (Skills for Life) to all employees.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are also available for non-native English speakers.
